Albany Jazz Small Band
An ensemble of 13 musicians, including vocalists
The Albany Jazz Band has been entertaining audiences in the San Francisco Bay area since its current formation with Bob Levenson, saxophonist, as Music Director and Richard Kalman, vocalist, as co-director. We appear annually at the Solano Stroll, Albany, in September, at many Albany festival events, and at other Bay Area venues. Our music is upbeat, swinging, and fresh. We perform classic big-band jazz from the great bands of yore, as well as popular contemporary jazz standards in many styles.
Our musicians and singers are seasoned players, mostly from local communities. We aim to delight the audience with good dancing and listening, genuine Jazz.
